
The University of Utah, School of Architecture invites applications for an open rank tenure-track position beginning in the fall of 2010.
The primary focus of this position is teaching and scholarly research activities in the area of architectural history and theory. The applicant will be expected to take a leadership role in the development of the history and theory curriculum of the school at both undergraduate and graduate levels as well as establish coursework in this area. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in architectural history/theory. Successful candidates will show a demonstrated commitment to and an established pedagogy in teaching history/theory courses and the capability to conduct scholarly research at a level that exemplifies national and international recognition.
The School of Architecture is part of the College of Architecture + Planning at the University of Utah, the flagship research and teaching university in the state. The architecture program is distinguished by excellent teaching, research, and creative work; the Western Regional Architecture Program; interdisciplinary collaboration; integration of historic preservation, sustainability, and digital technologies; the intensive Design Build Bluff program; and a commitment to international exchange. The School is dedicated to addressing the social and environmental responsibilities of architecture through community engagement and speculation into alternative forms of practice.
